Ever wish you could magic the metadata from a folder full of AV files into a nice CSV file? Well this blog will hopefully get you to that point, using MediaInfo software to extract metadata from your media files, and cutting it up in Python before writing to CSV.

This year there have been two MediaConch projects that have taught me a great deal about writing policies. Both have required using Media Area's MediaTrace, a feature you can only use when manually writing your XML policies.
The BFI National Archive SD video tape workflow transcodes and stores captured video tape as FFV1 matroska files, ingesting them into the Digital Preservation Infrastructure for long-term preservation.
